How to Play

  1. Pick the winner of all games for the current week (straight up - no point spreads)
  2. Rate each pick starting with 16 (most confident) down to 1 (least confident). If there are not 16 games on the schedule, still rate your most confident pick as 16 and work your way down to however many games there are. For example, if there are 14 games for a week then your lowest rating will be 3.
  3. Submit your picks. Picks must be submitted prior to 1:00 PM EST on the Sunday of each week. If there are games being played prior to Sunday (i.e. Thursday night or Saturday) then picks for those games must be submitted prior to game time - you do not, however, have to submit picks for all games at that time. All picks will be locked onSunday at 1:00. If you miss getting picks in for a specific game, then that game will be set as a loss for your 16 point game and I will adjust your picks accordingly. Example, if you forget there is a Thursday game, the loser of that game will be your 16 point pick. If you forget multiple games (Thursday and Saturday for example) then those games will be losses for your 16, 15, 14, etc.
  4. If the team you pick wins, you get whatever weighting you had assigned to that game. If the team you picked loses you get 0 for that game. Example: You pick Washington over Dallas and assign it a pick weighting of 7, if Washington wins you get 7 points for that game if Dallas wins you get 0. If a game ends in a tie, then it is considered a loss for everyone
  5. Whoever has the most points wins the week.

Pay in / pay out

It costs $90 to play (which breaks down to $5 per week). It has been $85 for years, but this year there will be 18 weeks instead of 17

You can pay via PayPal by clicking on the button below (will go to Mizelle Information Systems), PayPal takes a piece so I have to add that in:

For those people that would prefer to pay by check, my address is :

Of the $5 per person per week, $3 goes to the weekly winner and the other $2 go into the overall pot. So, if there are 100 people in the pool, the weekly payout will be 100 x $3 = $300, and $200 will go into the overall pot.

At the end of the year, there will be a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place prize based on the amount in the pot. The percentages are as follows:

  • 1st - 35% of overall pot
  • 2nd - 30% of overall pot
  • 3rd - 20% of overall pot
  • 4th - 10% of overall pot
  • 5th - 5% of overall pot

In the event of a tie, the winning amount will be split up evenly among the winners.

If you miss a week ...

You will get 5 points less than the lowest points total for that week. This will keep people in the hunt for the overall race.
